The Beach JBR is Hosting a FREE Event This Weekend to Celebrate Expo 2020!
With the Expo 2020 Dubai just 3 years away, what better way to celebrate than with a beachside party (Dubai style!). Thousands of people will be bringing their families down to The Beach JBR this weekend for an action-packed afternoon of live music, Expo-themed activities and a 6-metre high zip line. Did we mention the event is free, too?!
Expo at The Beach will mark the 3-year countdown to Expo 2020 Dubai, where people will get a sneak peek at what the highly-anticipated World Expo has in store for the city. Following the Expo theme, ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future‘, this family-friendly event will be MC’d by Virgin Radio’s Kris Fade and will feature an array of awesome entertainment.
A number of the Expo-themed activities will be based around innovations first showcased at previous World Expos, covering everything from television and the gramophone to telephones and ice cream cones. Expo 2020’s Expo Live Team will also be there to offer visitors a preview of an upcoming initiative called ‘The Innovation Challenge’.
The event will include:
- A fitness challenge
- Live local and international music
- Various entertainment
- A variety of food and drinks
- Expo-themed activities
- A 6-metre high zip line
- An ‘Expo-vation’ on the beach (this will be a recreation of the Expo logo, inspired by the desert discovery of jewellery)
- A celebration to mark the launch of the official volunteer registration portal for Expo 2020 Dubai (which will go live on the 20th October)
- A special ceremony on stage at 8.20pm to celebrate the 3-year countdown

A quick rundown of Expo 2020 Dubai:
Built around the theme ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, as well as as the 3 pillars, ‘Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability’, Expo 2020 Dubai will be a platform for innovation, international collaborations and partnerships.
Officially opening on the 20th October, 2020, this World Expo will be the first of its kind in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region, and the Arab world. It’s expected to attract an impressive 25 million visits, with 70% expected to come from outside the UAE.
