It’s not every day you get asked to spend the night in a mall… so when John Lewis Dubai invited us to experience their secret sleepover, we just couldn’t say no. Having recently opened its doors at Robinsons in Dubai Festival City Mall, the famous British brand set themselves the challenge of hosting the perfect night’s sleep.
Complimentary Uber rides, a PJ party, the comfiest mattresses ever and foot massages in bed, we think it’s safe to say that John Lewis went allll out! Seven ladies let loose after hours in a department store… what could possibly happen?!
We got glammed up
If the first thing offered to you is food, you know you’re in the right place. If the second thing offered is clothes, you’ve pretty much hit the jackpot. After being escorted to the evening wear section in Robinsons, we were told we could pick and wear anything we liked for the evening. From red-carpet gowns to jewellery, we felt like we were reliving a scene from Pretty Woman!
We enjoyed dinner with a view
We rocked up to Origami (yes… in our evening dresses), a hidden foodie gem tucked away on the 2nd floor of Robinsons. We enjoyed front row seats to Festival Bay’s epic IMAGINE show while sipping mocktails, tucking into delicious Japanese food (the Black Cod was incredible), and of course, snapping plenty of selfies!
Our PJ party kicked off in a secret chill-out space
Swapping our evening dresses for some comfy PJs, we went on the hunt for a top-secret room. Yes, the suspense absolutely killed us… The doors opened to reveal a cozy living room complete with fluffy carpets, desserts galore (there was even a chocolate fountain!), karaoke, Lancôme facials and a Lancôme makeup station. You can only imagine the look on all of our faces!
We snoozed in the John Lewis ‘Sleep Room’
After way too many churros, it was time to see where we were going to be sleeping for the night. Hidden away at the back of the department store, John Lewis Dubai’s ‘Sleep Room‘ felt like a secret escape from the world. It was decked out with forest-themed projections above the beds and the comfiest mattresses we’ve ever slept on! If that wasn’t enough, we were even treated to Aveda hand and foot massages in bed!
The secret sleepover ended with yoga and açaí bowls
The real mission from the sleepover? Having to tear ourselves away from John Lewis’ dream-like beds! But, with a professional yoga instructor waiting for us on Origami’s terrace, we knew it was worth it. Our post-yoga morning treat came in the form of heavenly açaí bowls and smoothies from Wild & The Moon – the perfect end to a perfect overnight stay…
