Abu Dhabi Festival brings world-class performances to the capital
Abu Dhabi Festival is running from March 8 to March 30, and will feature more than 100 events and 500 international artists… that’s a lot to see! With so much on offer this year, we’ve singled out 3 stage performances you won’t want to miss…
1. Pianographique
What’s on: Ever wondered what a visual representation of music might look like? Get ready for a dazzling multimedia spectacle that re-envisions contemporary and classic pieces for piano. Acclaimed pianists Dennis Russell Davies and Maki Namekawa with Ars Electronica’s Art Director Cori Olan are all set to perform innovative works with live visualizations… expect to be dazzled by colour and sound when they take the stage.

2. The Sarod Master
What’s on: He’s considered one of the most distinguished masters of Indian classical music, and now’s your chance to see him live. Sarod artist Amjad Ali Khan is performing a one-off concert in the capital that will feature an entrancing music set… all played on his classic stringed sarod. Fans from across the sub-continent are in for a treat when this living legend takes the stage.

3. Don Quixote
What’s on: The tale of Don Quixote comes to life courtesy of Spain’s Compañía Nacional de Danza. The stage show tells the story of Miguel de Cervantes’ romantic knight and will feature classic Franco-Russian choreography. At the helm is artistic director José Carlos Martínez who will give audiences a spell-binding rendition of this iconic ballet.
