Freshly-baked pizza drenched in mozzarella, creamy burrata that melts in the mouth, rich gelato packed with flavour – the Italians certainly know how to work their way around a kitchen. We’re massive fans of Italian restaurants in Dubai, which is why we did some digging (well, more like eating) to find you 5 of Dubai’s tastiest and most authentic Italian dishes. Buon appetito!
1. The Burrata Pugliese at MATTO Italian Restaurant
Fancy taking your foodie adventures to another level? How about a “crazy” one? The literal definition of “crazy”, MATTO Italian Restaurant is a homegrown dining concept that fuses trendy industrial vibes with traditional Italian food. We have to give this restaurant in Dubai a virtual high-five for its incredible Apulian Burrata, paired with cherry tomatoes, toasted almonds, zucchini and pesto. Delicious is an understatement!
2. The Spaghetti alla Nerano at Bianca Mozzarella & Co
A quirky BoxPark hotspot that stays true to its authentic Italian roots, Bianca Mozzarella & Co is one of our all-time faves. Mesmerising aromas will lure you in and the restaurant’s elegant décor will have you not wanting to leave. The Spaghetti alla Nerano is a definite must-try; it’s a hearty dish made with zucchini, basil and parmesan shavings.
3. The Agnolotti del Plin Farciti di Zucca Mantovana at The Artisan By Enoteca Pinchiorri
We’re big fans of The Artisan By Enoteca Pinchiorri thanks to its Tuscan countryside feel, delicious Italian food and brilliant waitstaff. One dish in particular that won the key to our hearts was the Agnolotti del Plin Farciti di Zucca Mantovana pasta stuffed with pumpkin, sage and roasted almonds. Need we say more?
4. The Bufalotta Pizza at Bussola
If you’re looking for pizza perfection, we’ve got to recommend Bussola at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi in Dubai Marina. Boasting an entire floor dedicated to pizza with seafront views, this Italian restaurant in Dubai is a must-visit. Our favourite dish? We’d have to go with the Bufalotta Pizza, made with tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomato and basil.
5. The Venchi Gelato at Eataly
A food hall, dessert parlour and a restaurant – is there anything Eataly doesn’t offer? Our go-to spot for some naughty Nutella treats, this Italian eatery is famous for its fresh produce and authentic desserts. What really impressed us was the fact that Eataly serves Venchi Gelato, one of the finest ice creams from Italy. You can’t get much more authentic than that…
