Searching for the tastiest Mexican food Dubai has to offer? From gigantic Margarita pitchers to delicious Mexican bites, check out these top places around the city.
1. CLAW BBQ
A cross between a family diner and American sports bar, CLAW BBQ is the place to dine if you’re looking for upsized drinks and huge portions. The BBQ restaurant offers a variety of burgers, Mexican food and seafood dishes, along with an endless list of cocktails. Most drinks come in moonshine jars or gigantic pitchers, so bring your thirst along.
Price: Around AED 25 to AED 85 for appetisers
Location: Souk Al Bahar, Downtown Dubai
insydo tip: With a number of arcade games to compete in, The Barn is a great space to hire out for private parties.
2. Maya

A trendy, upmarket Mexican restaurant, Maya is the perfect place for a stylish affair with friends, food and Latino fiestas. The garden-wrapped venue offers indoor and al fresco seating, as well as a funky lounge terrace. Romantic pathways to the restaurant, Aztec décor, must-try fajitas – it’s easy to fall in love with Maya.
Price: Around AED 80 to AED 95 for tacos and Margaritas start from AED 56
Location: Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa, JBR
insydo tip: For a unique experience, why not reserve the 10-seater table in the Tequila enclave? The Tequileria, as it’s known, houses the largest selection of labels in the UAE.
3. Tortuga Dubai
Via Facebook | @TortugaKitchen
Rustic in style, Tortuga is a Mexican kitchen and bar that is lively, fun and bursting with flavour. The food is beyond sensational, the Tequila selection is sprawling and the Molcajete dish can’t be found anywhere else in the city. Custom-made margaritas, tailor-made guacamole, lessons in drinking Tequila (correctly) – Tortuga is a must-try Mexican escape from the typical taco houses and burrito bars.
Price: Around AED 62 for a Margarita and AED 65 for nachos
Location: Madinat Jumeirah
insydo tip: Getting the boat to Tortuga Dubai should be fun, but when you have to wait for 10 minutes at the Madinat jetty, it’s just frustrating – be prepared for this, especially on weekends.
4. Loca
Via Facebook | @LocaUAE
With brickwork walls and stainless steel accents, Loca is a modern Mexican hotspot that cooks up classic cuisine. Burritos, tacos and enchiladas, served up on sizzling-hot skillets, will satisfy all your meaty cravings. It’s not only popular for its food, but also for its table-top taps allowing you to pour your own pints.
Price: Mains start from around AED 60
Location: Multiple locations but we’re loving Jumeirah
insydo tip: Be sure to come down for Ladies Night every Wednesday from 7pm where ladies can enjoy unlimited margaritas all night.
5. La Tablita
Via Facebook | @LaTablitaDubai
Boasting Dubai’s first Consejo Regulador del Tequila (Master Tequilier) along with a menu that features over a dozen variations of the almighty taco, La Tablita offers a fresh and spicy take on Latin American cuisine. With a menu that features 16 varieties of chillies and avocados imported from Mexico, we were ready to brave the heat.
Price: Around AED 55 for Tuna Ceviche
Location: Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights
insydo tip: As much as we loved everything about La Tablita’s quirky menu and venue, we weren’t big fans of its hard-to-get-to location hidden away in Healthcare City.
