Public holidays in UAE for Isra Wal Miraj
Public sector workers will get the day off for Isra’a Wal Miraj on Saturday, April 14, with work resuming on Sunday, April 15, according to the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources. This means that neither the public nor private sectors will get a long weekend.
A dry night is scheduled for this weekend
Take note that there will also be a dry night this weekend. Licensed venues including hotels, restaurants and bars will be prohibited from serving alcohol from 6pm on Friday, April 13 until 7pm on Saturday, April 14.
The announcement was made by the Department of Tourism and Commerce. The restrictions will be in place to mark Isra Wal Miraj, an important occasion on the Islamic calendar.
Free parking in Dubai
All paid parking zones will be free across the emirate during the holiday except for the multi-level parking lots. Paid parking fees will be reactivated on Sunday, April 15.
