Dubai is set to introduce two new fees that will be levied on a range of government services in the emirate.
Known as a ‘Knowledge Dirham Fee’, AED 10 will be applied on all government transactions, with revenues going towards providing support for educational and cultural projects in Dubai.
The second levy is called an ‘Innovation Dirham Fee’, with AED 10 on each government transaction going to the Dubai Foundation for the Future.
What’s exempt from the fees?
- Government transactions below AED 50
- Health services
- Traffic violations
