Heads up, drivers — a new Salik Dubai toll gate coming up on Sheikh Zayed Road will soon be operational starting this week. Here are the details…
A new Salik Dubai toll gate is being erected on SZR
The RTA has announced that Dubai’s latest Salik toll gate will go into operation from October 24. It will be the seventh Salik gate in the city and will be located just after Ibn Battuta Mall in both directions of SZR. Its aim is to divert traffic from Jebel Ali in the direction of Sharjah.
Alternative routes
In order to bypass the new Salik gate, motorists on SZR now have direct access to parallel freeways including Emirates Road, Shaikh Mohammad bin Zayed Road, Shaikh Zayed Bin Hamdan Road, and Al Khail Road at the newly upgraded Seventh Interchange.
SZR currently has three Salik gates at Al Barsha, Al Safa and Al Garhoud Bridge. The toll system launched in 2007 costs AED 4 every time a driver passes through.
