UAE national holidays 2018 to add to your calendar
Is it just us or did 2018 just fly by? If you’re making plans, here’s a guide of the year’s remaining holidays:
- Commemoration Day, also known as Martyr’s Day, will fall on Friday, November 30. Because it falls on a weekend, the private sector won’t be getting any time off.
- Prophet Muhammad’s birthday (pbuh) will tentatively fall on Tuesday, November 20. All employees are expected to get one day off.
- UAE National Day will be celebrated on Sunday, December 2 and Monday, December 3. When combined with the preceding weekend, it’s likely that UAE residents in the private sector will enjoy a three-day weekend, while the public sector can expect a four-day break.
- New Year’s Day falls on Tuesday, January 1 — with all residents set to enjoy a one-day mid-week public holiday.
