Fusing together live performances, incredible sea views and a buzzing atmosphere, Bluewaters is the place to spend your weekends in Dubai. Running until 2 March, the ‘Create Wonders’ Street Music Festival features a curated selection of talented musicians – both local and global – along with free interactive workshops, open mic nights and all-round musical fun! We spent our Saturday evening down at Bluewaters enjoying sunset vibes and soulful tunes, and here’s why you should too…
Live musical performances
‘Create Wonders‘ takes place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with an array of performances on different parts of the island. From live musicians taking the stage in the magical Wonder Garden to Spain’s master street drummer who uses paint buckets, pots and pans to create music, let’s just say the level of talent is impressive. Here’s a quick roundup of the live performances lined up for this coming weekend…
Thursday 28th February

Free workshops for all ages
Whether you fancy feeling the rhythm in a Body Percussion session or drumming your way to musical happiness in a Djembe Drum workshop, Bluewaters is offering a number of free interactive workshops for all ages on Fridays and Saturdays.
- Guitar: Friday at 5.40pm, 6.30pm and 7.40pm
- Djembe Drum: Saturday at 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.40pm
- Build Your Own Instrument: Friday and Saturday at 4.30pm
- Body Percussion: Friday and Saturday at 4.30pm
Open mic nights by the water
The island’s chilled-out open mic nights are held in the Wonder Garden every Saturday until the end of April. You’ll find people there kicking back on beanbags under a canopy of fairy lights, while jamming along to musical favourites. This Saturday’s ‘Empire Sessions Open Mic Night‘ kicks off at 7.40pm – don’t miss it!
As well as February’s Street Music Festival, ‘Create Wonders’ at Bluewaters has a lot more in store across the coming months. From art to dance, get ready for an action-packed schedule of activities and performances every weekend up until 27 April.
