Since it first launched in 2016, Ramadan sharing fridges have grown into a citywide effort to help feed low-income workers during the Holy Month. Get more details below…
What exactly is a ‘Ramadan sharing fridge’?
The Ramadan sharing fridges are set up in outdoor locations across Dubai to provide free food and drinks to labourers and low-income workers.
Where can I find a sharing fridge near me?
There will be dozens of fridges set up across the emirate. Here is a live Google Map of Ramadan sharing fridges in Dubai to help you locate one nearest to you.
Who fills the fridges?
Anyone can contribute! This is a community initiative that allows you to donate food and drinks and fill the fridges directly. The fridges are accessible 24 hours a day, and need to be refurbished constantly.
What kind of items can I donate?
The most popular items are juices, soda, water, laban, fruit (bananas, apples, oranges, grapes, watermelon in portions) and vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, onions). Fruits, dates, biscuits, nuts and crisps also work great. Hot foods are not encouraged.
