Now that the weather is back on our side, outdoor cinema experiences should be at the top of your Dubai date-night goals. From movies under the stars to cocktail screenings, here are 3 al fresco cinemas to check out this season…
1. Rooftop outdoor cinema Dubai

Perched atop Galleria Mall in Jumeirah, VOX Outdoor Cinema is a premium al fresco theatre screening the latest Hollywood flicks alongside special theme nights catering to different movie genres and even families. Book in advance to nab a comfy VIP cabana for two where you can kick your feet up with a basket of delicious snacks. Tickets start at AED 130 per person.
2. Dinner and a flick

‘The Cinema’ is a new pop-up concept at Le Royal Meridien where films will be screened every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday until December 26. Not only will you get to enjoy a flick, but your booking also includes a 2-course (AED 120) or 3-course (AED 150) menu at one of 5 restaurants including Zengo, Al Khaima, Geales, Rhodes Twenty10 and Maya. Show starts at 8pm – come hungry!
3. Cocktails and movie night

Boasting a cinema setup on the lawn outside West 14th at Oceana Beach Club on the Palm, families are welcome to come down for FREE screenings every Thursday night at 6:30pm (for kids) and 8pm (for adults.) Best part? The evening includes an American-style BBQ, cocktails and snacks that go perfectly with the atmosphere. Entry is free.
4. Movie with a view

Quirky Downtown bar Backyard Dubai recently launched its weekly movie nights, and they’ve got some great options lined up. Every Tuesday from 8pm, film buffs can enjoy great food, drinks, stunning views of the Dubai Canal and of course, a movie for just AED 75. Don’t miss the screening the Oscar-winning film La La Land on November 28th!
5. Marina Mall Promenade
Head to Marina Mall every weekend for its pop-up outdoor movie nights, which are perfect for families. So round up the little ones and head to the Promenade every Friday and Saturday at 5.30pm. The screenings are completely FREE, but make sure to get there early to grab some beanbags.
